Position: Federal Work Study Student - Center Assistant(Off Campus)
Location: Girls, Inc.
Nature of Duties:
Under supervision, the Center Assistant will assist with preparation and teaching of age appropriate programs and curricula.
Major Duties:
- Assist in preparation and teaching of research-based, age appropriate programs and curricula, using Girls, Inc. programming as the cornerstone of instruction
- Design and implement mission-related activities and events
- Serve as a role model for girls, staff and volunteers, maintain high level of professionalism and attention to quality in all aspects of program delivery and work in general
- Operate in accordance with Girls Inc's policies and procedures
- Utilize predefined lesson plans, develop lesson plans and facilitate programs daily in accordance with lesson plans
- Stay current on issues related to girls and children
- Work cooperatively with staff and supervisors
- Participate in staff meetings and conferences to share ideas, concerns, working collaboratively with other staff to meet agency and program goals
- Assist with reading and math tutoring
- Uphold and enforce center rules and safety regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Monitor the sign-in sheets for visitors
- Take temperature for all incoming visitors
- Provide customer services
Minimum Qualifications:
- Be enrolled as a student at Columbus Technical College
- Completed a FAFSA and be identified as being eligible for federal aid
- Complete a Federal Work-Study Employment Application.
Salary/Benefits: $15.00 per hour; no benefits
