Position Summary
The Fertilizer Technician is responsible for applying lawn care treatments safely and effectively while delivering outstanding customer service. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, is detail-oriented, dependable, and driven to succeed in a performance-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Arrive on time and prepared for each scheduled workday
- Apply fertilizer, weed control, and pesticide treatments according to company standards
- Monitor lawns for signs of weeds, insects, and disease; recommend appropriate treatments
- Read, interpret, and strictly follow pesticide labels, mix rates, and safety guidelines
- Maintain accurate application records and service documentation
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers regarding services performed
- Load, transport, and maintain all materials and equipment required for daily routes
- Safely operate application equipment, including backpack sprayers and blowers
- Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and work environment
- Comply with all federal, state, and local pesticide regulations and safety standards
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
- Valid Missouri driver's license with a clean driving record
- Missouri Commercial Applicator's License preferred (training provided for qualified candidates)
- Ability to read, understand, and apply pesticide labels and regulatory requirements
- Strong record-keeping and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds regularly
- Ability to carry a backpack sprayer and operate equipment for extended periods
- Ability to stand and work outdoors for 8+ hours per day in varying weather conditions
- Must successfully pass a drug screening and background check
- Lawn and landscape industry experience preferred but not required
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time or Part-time, non-exempt position
