Job Description

Position Summary

The Fiber Optic Aerial Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment to support aerial fiber construction and maintenance activities. This role requires safe and efficient operation of digger-derricks, pressure diggers, skid-steers, mini-excavators, and related utility equipment. A strong focus on safety, precision, and teamwork is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Operate digger-derricks safely and efficiently.
Operate skid-steers to support aerial fiber construction tasks.
Operate mini-excavators as required for project needs.
Support aerial fiber construction and maintenance operations.
Set and remove poles, anchors, and overhead attachments.
Assist linemen and groundmen with material handling and jobsite setup.
Adhere to all company safety standards and jobsite protocols.
Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on assigned equipment.
Operate bucket trucks when needed.

Qualifications

Valid Class A CDL required.
Experience operating bucket trucks, digger-derricks, and heavy equipment.
Knowledge of utility or fiber construction environments.
Strong safety record and situational awareness.
Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug testing.
Willingness to travel based on project requirements.
Electrical distribution experience is a plus but not required.
