Field Communications Technician III

We’re seeking a highly skilled Field Communications Technician III to provide essential regional support across a diverse range of telecommunications systems. This is your chance to play a pivotal role in ensuring reliable communications infrastructure in a dynamic environment—empowering vital operations and making a tangible impact every day.

In this role, you’ll independently manage the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex communication systems, including SCADA, LAN cabling, microwave, and satellite equipment, among others. You’ll serve as a key liaison between field operations and IT, support local projects, and deliver first-level training to field personnel—all while supporting 24/7 on-call demands. Your expertise will help keep critical systems running smoothly over a broad geographic area, making this an ideal opportunity for motivated, experienced technicians ready to take their career to the next level.

Required Skills:

7+ years of experience in telecommunications systems installation and maintenance (wireless data, SCADA, LAN cabling)
Ability to install and troubleshoot voice, data, video, microwave, badge access, and surveillance systems
Proficient in using test equipment and supporting software
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Valid FCC license preferred; CCNA certification a plus
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
Physical capability for outdoor work and safe vehicle operation

Nice to Have Skills:

Experience with phone systems and microwave communications systems
Knowledge of network infrastructure standards
Prior project support and contractor management experience

Preferred Education and Experience:

Associate’s degree in Electronics or related field, or 7 years equivalent industry experience

Other Requirements:

Ability to travel up to 50%
Willingness to provide on-call support after hours
