  • Perform troubleshooting to identify the root cause of equipment issues

  • Remove broken or damaged equipment and replace with new or repaired components
  • Provide training and instruction to customer workforce on safe and effective maintenance practices
  • Serve as the liaison between customer representatives on-site and the company, communicating and resolving issues professionally
  • Document and report suggestions for design improvements as part of site reporting
  • Perform all physical duties safely and professionally, either independently or alongside others, which may include:
    • Use of heavy tooling
    • Moving large or bulky parts manually
    • Working at heights

    • Extensive use of hand power tools
    • Extended or consecutive workdays when local skills/experience are limited
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (electrical, civil, rigging, haulage) and customer production operators
  • Communicate with customer representatives at all levels on technical and engineering matters
  • Build and strengthen customer relationships, including during challenging situations
  • Perform machine overhauls, including removal and replacement of:
    • Shafts, track shoes, and wear components
    • Bearings
    • Fluid couplings
    • Gears and seals
    • Electro-mechanical and hydraulic drives
  • Support limited sales-related duties, such as recommending maintenance contracts or identifying low spares inventory
  • Travel internationally on an extensive basis, including to locations where English may not be widely spoken, and independently manage situations to achieve successful outcomes
  • Perform other duties as needed based on business requirements

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting background
  • Experience with heavy equipment, industrial machinery, hydraulics, or similar mechanical systems
  • Comfortable with extensive travel, including internationally
