Field Service Technician (Seasonal)

The Opportunity

As our Service Technician, you will install, service, and maintain our equipment to keep it running at top operating efficiency. To be successful in this position, you will need:

• This position will work in our customer facility located in Delano, CA.
• This is a seasonal position, based on the schedule of our customer, typically operating from October to April- July.
• Service and maintain JBT machinery and chemical systems in customer packinghouse.
• Mix and test chemicals in the field to verify proper dilution and effectiveness.
• Maintain and service all JBT chemical systems and machinery in customer packing houses on a routine basis to ensure that all equipment and systems are functioning properly and are in good repair as determined by management.
• Develop effective relationships with personnel and management.
• Maintain proper records of chemical use to assure machinery down time is kept to a minimum.
• Responsible for inventory cost control and summer repair parts list while maintaining proper inventory of leased machinery parts and chemical use at packinghouses to assure machinery down time and customer complaints are kept to a minimum
• Work with Technical Service to ensure proper application of JBT chemicals
• Complete checklists and fill in delivery log books for JBT requirements and food safety documentation
• Possess the ability to fabricate, assemble and install Leased Machinery systems on an as needed basis.
• Travel to assist other customer facilities if required depending on seasonal need.

Requirements:

Mandatory:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working on industrial machinery
• Basic mechanical skills to maintain and troubleshoot equipment issues are required.
• Willing to work out of town, out of state and overnight as required
• Availability for extended hours, weekends and/or variable schedules, especially during the processing season (ex. work 8+ hours per day, up to 7 days per week) if needed.

Preferred Requirements:

• Technical School
• Electrical circuitry experience
• Computer programming experience
• PLC programming experience
• Packing house operations experience

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

Must be physically capable of:

• Ability to work in various conditions, including indoor/outdoor weather, moving industrial machinery, chemicals and fumes, noisy or dusty environments.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, squat and step up/down for various amounts of time and paces.
• Ability to stand or sit for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Capability to lift, push, pull and move materials, typically up to 50 pounds.
• Hand Use: Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling equipment and performing tasks.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

The estimated annual salary/hourly range for this role is $20-$25. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
