Job Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training, and Experience
- Two (2) years of experience in the enforcement of parking regulations and restrictions OR
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree or higher, plus
- one (1) year of work experience in enforcement of parking regulations and restrictions
Licensure, Certification, or Other Qualifications
- A valid State of Illinois Driver's license is required
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Exposure to outdoor weather conditions
- Exposure to loud noise, fumes, or dust
- Exposure to hostile and potentially violent situations
- General office environment
EQUIPMENT
- Standard office equipment (e.g., telephone, printer, photocopier, fax machine, calculator)
- Computers and peripheral equipment (e.g., personal computer, computer terminals, scanner)
- Hand-held computer and parking citation printer
- Personal protective equipment (e.g., shoes, gloves, vest)
- Specialized safety equipment (e.g., bullet-proof vest)
- Two-way radio
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires applicants to successfully pass a skills test and complete an interview. The test results will be sent out by the Department of Human Resources after the test results have been analyzed and compiled. Candidates who pass the exam will be selected for an interview. The interviewed bidders receiving a passing score on the exam and possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position based on the interview will be selected according to the collective bargaining agreement.

APPLICATION EVALUATION: Initial evaluation will be based on information provided on the application and the documents submitted. Department of Human Resource staff will review applications after the final posting date. Staff will follow any and all required Employment/Hiring Plan provisions, federal, state and local laws, and Collective Bargaining Agreements when applicable.
