Job Description
Summary: Location: Fairmont, WV Duration: 2 Years Responsibilities: Conduct inspections of steel structure foundations and repairs. Perform substation foundation and repair inspections. Oversee wood pole treatment and testing methods. Supervise steel structure coating crews. Evaluate transmission structures to assess the health of electrical circuits. Assess storm damage and support emergency restoration crews. Requirements: 5 years of active field experience. Proficiency in computer skills for completing daily and weekly reports. Capability in photo documentation with knowledge of Word and Excel. Valid driver's license and US citizenship. Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications. Ability to create detailed reports. Must be able to wear company-provided PPE for the entire shift while onsite. Ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs at any given time throughout the day. Must be able to walk up to 3 miles per day across rough terrain and/or uneven surfaces. Preferred Skills: 7 years of knowledge in transmission line work, foundations, and stringing of conductors. Experience with transmission substations and facilities. Knowledge of QA/QC inspections and reporting practices. Familiarity with various electronics used to create reports. Proficient in both verbal and written communication. Physical Requirements: Occasional overtime may be required. Willingness to travel in OH, PA, Virginia, WV, Jersey, Maryland based on current location. Ability to drive to job location as part of the workday.
