Job Description
General responsibilities:
• Bench and fit of both band saws and round saws• Maintain Micarta and Babbit guides• Maintain filing equipment• Sharpen chipper knives• Perform machine center alignments on saws• Transport sews• Change saws at machine centers• Discard and/or repair damaged saws• Other duties as assigned
Education and skills
1 year of previous experience with saw filing• Strong commitment to safety values and experience with LOTO• Preferred knowledge of fitting and benching both bandsaws and round saws• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and• maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an• organization.• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in• written, oral, or diagram form.• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized• situations.• This position is classified as “safety-sensitive,” candidates will be subject to comprehensive pre-• employment drug screening, inclusive of marijuana (THC).
