Finance/Accounting/Patient Financial Services

Summary:

• Responsible for registration, insurance authorizations, billing third-party payers and account follow-up on outstanding denied or underpaid account receivables.
• Ensure all financial clearance strategies meet the patient-centric model.
• Work directly with the patient and patient’s family from the start of the patient’s visit through registration to completion of their account.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure authorizations are received and managed appropriately to secure insurance reimbursement.
• Advocate on behalf of the patient to ensure the financial burden is manageable.
• Bill patients for their coinsurance, deductibles, share of cost, and non-covered services.
• Perform complex mathematical calculations to adjudicate accounts appropriately.
• Analyze and adjudicate complicated contractual arrangements.
• Review remittance codes from explanation of benefits (EOB) and remittance advices (RA).
• Follow the patient through the entire Revenue Cycle until full financial resolution is achieved.
• Build teamwork through open communication and collaboration among team members.
• Participate actively on SNF multi-disciplinary team.

Requirements:

• Minimum Education: Associate Degree and/or combination of education and experience.
• Minimum Experience: 3 years healthcare PFS experience or 2 years specialized Skilled Nursing.
• Proficiency in English for satisfactory performance of essential functions.
• Knowledge of standard office equipment and personal computer software skills (MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, internet, e-mail).
• Windows computer skills including proficient use of keyboarding and mouse functions required upon employment or within the first two weeks.

Preferred Skills:

• Basic college/medical coursework.
• 3  years Skilled Nursing Billing experience.
