Finance And Accounting - Operational Accountant

Location: West Des Moines, IA/Charlotte, NC

An Operational Accountant in Finance and Accounting is responsible for managing unique supplier setup and maintenance requests tied to projects such as Early Pay Discount and Virtual Card. The role involves monitoring Ariba Buying & Invoicing supplier mismatch reports to identify, research, and resolve discrepancies between Ariba and PeopleSoft migration.

• Answer questions on processes for peers, managers, and both internal and external customers. Troubleshoot escalated and complex questions from internal business groups and external suppliers.
• Independently prioritize and complete escalations, report system defects, complete requirements for system and process enhancements, and conduct monthly UAT system testing efforts, including submitting test scripts and managing additional projects as assigned.
• Analyze risks in processes and document procedures and training requirements to strengthen and improve individual and team performance. This position is crucial in managing the increased workload created by systems, projects, and new employees.
• Work independently as a self-starter, requiring minimal direction or management oversight. This role is key to successfully driving the expansion of suppliers through the Ariba platform and transitioning away from PeopleSoft eProcurement.
• Directly work with suppliers to troubleshoot Ariba system modules and the PeopleSoft system.
• Manage system clean-up projects to maintain a system of record free from error, such as inactivating unused supplier locations and adding physical addresses to older active suppliers for Global Sanctions screening.
• Successful supplier onboarding is a crucial task for this position. The role involves partnering closely with Ariba, supplier key contacts, and various roles across Supply Chain Management (SCM) including Sourcing and Contracts, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Enabling Capabilities, and the Business Group to ensure suppliers are successfully onboarded for transacting in Ariba.
