Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

Project Details: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Intern to join our finance team this summer. The ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience in accounting and finance processes, with opportunities to collaborate across various functions. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment are essential for success in this position. 

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting activities across the organization.
  • Assist with monthly reporting, variance analysis, and forecast updates.
  • Help prepare management-ready presentations and materials.
  • Optimize Excel models, perform light financial modeling, and communicate insights to key stakeholders.
  • Mentorship with Director of Commercial Finance.

Education 

  • Attending four-year college or university to attain a Finance, Economics, or Business Administration Bachelor's degree; or already awarded Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university. 

Required Skills 

  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Excel with the ability to work accurately in large datasets.
  • Foundational knowledge of financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and effective time management skills.
  • Clear communication skills with a high level of curiosity, initiative, and eagerness to learn.

Skills 

Language Skills 

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. 
  • Ability to make effective presentations on complex topics to plant management and other stakeholders. 

Mathematical Skills 

  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. 
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis 

Reasoning Ability 

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
