Job Details
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and submit recurring invoices to public and private funding sources in accordance with contract termsMaintain thorough documentation to support funding requirements, audits, and regulatory compliancePerform budget-to-actual analysis, identify variances, and recommend actionable solutionsReview general ledger activity, reconcile discrepancies, and record necessary journal entriesTrack and forecast program and grant spending; collaborate with department leaders to review financial performance and update budgets as neededDeliver advanced financial analysis, including trend evaluations and scenario modeling, to support strategic planningAssist with special initiatives such as new program rollouts, process improvements, and cost allocation assessmentsPartner with internal teams to develop budgets for grant proposals and produce financial reports for fundersReview and process labor allocation reports tied to federally funded programsCollaborate with HR to maintain accurate salary allocations and staffing models aligned with grant budgetsSupport audit processes, including preparation of confirmations, schedules, and supporting documentationContribute to organization-wide financial forecasting on a recurring basis and present insights to leadershipProvide mentorship and guidance to junior team members to ensure accuracy and consistency in reportingComplete ad hoc financial analyses and reports as requested
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (advanced degree a plus)3+ years of progressive experience in accounting, financial analysis, or financial management; nonprofit experience preferredStrong understanding of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards; familiarity with grant and government funding compliance highly desirableProficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office (Excel required)Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive process improvementsHighly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple prioritiesEffective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams and present financial insights clearlySelf-starter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamHigh level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive informationComfortable working in a diverse and collaborative environment
