Job Description

Who we are

We're The Beck Group, the largest and most innovative integrated building firm in the country. We are focused on delivering design and construction excellence on a broad range of project types. Headquartered in downtown Dallas, with offices in Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Denver, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Worth, Mexico City, and Tampa, we believe a better process and outcome results from working together. At Beck, you will find yourself surrounded by passionate colleagues who have a collaborative mindset and care about each other. We are committed to hiring the best and brightest within our industry, and that's why we are seeking experienced professionals like you to help transform the industry and continue building Beck's respected reputation.

We are seeking a Finance Systems & Data Analyst to join our Accounting & Finance team. This role will lead the development and management of our company-wide dashboards. This role will primarily focus on aggregating and summarizing key metrics from across the organization, with a special emphasis on dashboards, who also brings hands-on expertise in financial systems, data analytics, automation, and business intelligence.

This position serves as the bridge between Finance operations and technology, ensuring financial data is accurate, well-structured, and translated into meaningful insights. The Finance Systems & Data Analyst will play a critical role in optimizing our ERP environment, enhancing reporting and analytics, and proactively identifying financial risks, trends, and opportunities to support better decision-making across the business.

This role is not just about producing reports-it is about interpreting data, surfacing insights, and strengthening financial visibility and control.

  • Deliver actionable insights to improve business processes and drive strategic conversations
  • Perform trend analysis, variance analysis, and exception-based reporting across projects, departments, and entities.
  • Proactively identify and communicate financial risks, anomalies, red flags, and opportunities (e.g., margin erosion, cash flow timing issues, cost overruns, billing delays).

Decision Support & Risk Awareness

  • Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, executive-ready insights for Finance leadership.
  • Support scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, and what-if modeling to inform strategic and operational decisions.
  • Develop early-warning indicators and monitoring tools to enhance financial oversight and risk management.

Process Improvement & Automation

  • Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting, reconciliations, and data processes within Finance.
  • Improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of financial information through better system design and data workflows.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across Accounting, FP&A, and related functions.

Collaboration & Enablement

  • Partner closely with Accounting and FP&A to ensure systems and reporting align with GAAP, month-end close, job cost accounting, and financial statement requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for data collaboration and integration between disciplines.
  • Translate business requirements into technical system and reporting solutions.
  • Train end-users on how to use and interpret information/insights on deployed dashboards/reports.
  • Identify opportunities to improve data literacy throughout Beck.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
  • 3-7+ years of experience in a finance systems, financial analyst, business intelligence analyst, or in the application of data to solve problems.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale analytics projects spanning multiple functional groups.
  • Experience guiding business partners (who may have limited experience with technology and data) through the process of KPI development.
  • Construction Experience including knowledge of industry trends, terminology, and typical processes is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., CMiC, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Sage, Viewpoint, or similar).
  • Advanced skills in data analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or equivalent - including creating and maintaining dataflows.
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Demonstrated ability to connect financial data to business outcomes and decision-making.
  • A drive to do what it takes to get the job done, including taking on different roles and responsibilities and adapting to changing environments.

Preferred Experience

  • Construction Experience including knowledge of industry trends, terminology, and typical processes is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with job cost accounting, forecasting tools, contract-based workflows, or WIP reporting.
  • Experience with data automation, ETL processes, system integrations, or data governance practices.
  • Exposure to audit support, internal controls, or compliance-related reporting.

What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • Finance leadership has clear, trusted dashboards and reporting that highlight performance, risks, and trends.
