Position

Financial Accounting Manager

About Solugen:

Solugen's mission is to decarbonize chemical manufacturing. As an initial step, Solugen is building its first commercial plant with a capacity of 10,000 tpy, with the potential to offset up to 37,000 tpy of carbon dioxide equivalents.

The Financial Accounting & Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation, accuracy, and timely delivery of financial statements and reports. This role ensures compliance with GAAP, manages the month-end close process, and supports internal and external reporting requirements. The position partners closely with senior leadership, auditors, and cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and maintain strong internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • * Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process
  • * Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, statement of equity)
  • * Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
  • * Oversee cost accounting, variance analysis, and inventory review
  • * Ensure proper accounting for fixed assets, depreciation, and capital projects
  • * Oversee account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • * Manage external audits and coordinate with auditors
  • * Develop and maintain internal controls and accounting policies
  • * Analyze financial results and provide variance analysis and insights
  • * Collaborate with multiple departments within the Company
  • * Drive process improvements and automation initiatives
  • * Supervise accounting staff

    • Qualifications

  • * Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA strongly preferred)
  • * 5–8+ years of accounting or financial reporting experience (preference in chemicals, manufacturing, or industrial sectors)
  • * Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • * Experience with NetSuite ERP system
  • * Advanced Excel skills
  • * Experience managing audits and financial reporting cycles

    • Preferred Qualifications

  • * Public accounting background (Big 4 or similar)
  • * Experience in a publicly traded company
  • * Familiarity with internal controls/SOX
  • * Compliance
