Job Description
If you believe the best finance partners are built on the plant floor, not just behind a screen, this role is worth your time.
We are supporting a manufacturing operation in Aroostook County, Maine that is looking for an Accounting or Finance professional who wants to be truly embedded in the business. This is not a remote, hybrid, or check-in-from-afar role. It is hands-on, on-site, and closely tied to day-to-day operations.
You will work directly with machine superintendents and plant leadership, supporting critical equipment, processes, and operational finance activities that require a daily presence. This role also serves as backup for on-site operational finance responsibilities, making reliability and engagement essential.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who can commute locally or is open to relocating for the right long-term fit. Northern Maine offers a pace and quality of life that is increasingly hard to find. Think space to breathe, four true seasons, strong community ties, access to the outdoors, and a lower cost of living. It suits someone who values focus, stability, and doing work that is tangible and visible.
What you will be doing:
Ensure accounting requirements are completed accurately and on time
Analyze operational and financial data, investigate variances, and identify key drivers
Prepare clear, meaningful variance commentary for plant and leadership teams
Support cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
Assist with reporting tied to performance and incentive programs
Recommend and help implement process improvements aligned with operational goals
Spend time on the manufacturing floor, partnering closely with plant leadership
What they are looking for:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
High integrity and respect for confidentiality
Approximately 10 percent travel
A hands-on mindset and willingness to be on-site in Aroostook County every day
If you are looking for a role where your work directly impacts operations, people, and outcomes, and you are open to building a life in northern Maine, this could be a meaningful next step.
Compensation is commensurate with experience. Salary details are shared early in the interview process.
