Since 1965, Capstone has supported individuals and families in achieving economic and housing stability and rising out of poverty.
Position: The Financial and Business Coach, located in our Morrisville Vermont office, partners with individuals, families, and aspiring entrepreneurs to strengthen financial wellness, build assets, and create pathways to economic opportunity. Through financial coaching and microbusiness development support, this role helps participants achieve greater financial security and turn their goals into reality.
From budgeting, credit, and savings to business planning and entrepreneurship, you'll provide the tools, guidance, and connections people need to build stability, achieve their goals, and thrive.
Qualifications:
- B.A. or higher degree, preferably in community organizing, community development, personal finance management, planning, or human services; or an AA and nationally recognized accreditation in Financial Counseling or Financial Coaching; or a comparable combination of relevant work experience and training.
- 3+ years' experience in personal finance management, personal finance coaching, and credit building, including demonstrated competence and sensitivity in working with low-income individuals and families seeking to become economically self-sufficient.
- 4 years' experience in small business development or management, with experience owning a business or being self-employed preferred.
- Basic bookkeeping or accounting experience, or experience managing a budget.
- Experience in group facilitation and training.
- Experience in marketing and public relations.
