Job Description

The Financial Coaching Program Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of Desert Financial Credit Union’s Financial Coaching Program. This role combines the program management expertise and people leadership to drive member and employee financial wellness and community impact. Overseeing the execution of financial coaching initiatives, they will drive the financial coaching services that transform the financial well-being of our employees and members. They are passionate about financial education and empowerment while possessing strong management skills to build an effective coaching program. This role will support and coordinate the efforts of Financial Coaches as they contribute to the program, with a focus on managing program success metrics, expanding program reach, and representing the program in the community.

What you will do here:

Program Management:

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Financial Coaching Program, ensuring standardization and consistent delivery of services and manage vendor relationships.

Develop methods to measure program effectiveness, program goals, metrics, and reporting frameworks to track client outcomes and performance of the coaches.

Develop coaching materials, resources, and training programs to ensure alignment and quality of the coaching program.

Create and deliver reports and insights to stakeholders who will be using the data to guide program improvements and strategic decisions.

Support program expansion and innovation by working with leadership to share feedback, data, and recommendations that inform strategic decisions.

Financial Coach Engagement and Support:

Provide matrixed leadership and support to Financial Coaches who support the program but are not direct reports.

Serve as a key point of contact for certified coaches, providing regular communication, facilitation of learning opportunities, and guidance on program goals.

Foster a collaborative team environment that emphasizes continuous learning and improvement.

Community Engagement & Representation:

Attend community events, workshops, and networking functions to promote the program and establish partnerships.

Be a representative of the Financial Coaching Program to community leaders and partner organizations, serving as an ambassador for financial empowerment initiatives.

Build and maintain partnerships with community organizations and financial service providers, while identifying opportunities to expand the program through new collaborations, services, or delivery models.

Work closely with internal teams (Marketing, Corporate Social Responsibility, Member Engagement) to support program promotion and referrals.

What you will need:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, Marketing, Finance, or related field preferred.

Equivalent combination of education and experience required.

4+ years of Program Management experience developing program processes and executing program improvements and enhancements required.

Preferred experience with programs and projects in financial wellness, coaching, or community development preferred.

2+ years of experience delivering presentations and speaking in public or large-group settings, with experience as a media or community representative preferred.

Strong leadership skills with experience supervising and developing a team; skilled in providing coaching, feedback, and professional development required.

Passion for financial education and empowerment with commitment to advance financial wellness, especially among diverse and underserved populations required.

Ability to think critically and strategically to drive program growth, improvement, and long-term impact required.

Public speaking and presentation confidence with excellent communication skills for engaging with internal teams, community partners, media, and diverse audiences required.

Strong data analysis and reporting skill to track success metrics, and use insights to inform decisions and continuous program improvement required.

Bilingual skills (Spanish/English) preferred preferred.

Financial coaching, counseling, or education certification (e.g., AFC®, CFEI®, CFP®) preferred.
