Controller
Location: Orem, UTEmployment Type: Full-Time
About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a growing and financially sophisticated organization seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting and financial reporting functions. This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic accounting professional with a strong background in private equity, investment accounting, and real estate who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, month-end and year-end close.
- Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage accounting activities related to investment portfolios, private equity transactions, and real estate holdings.
- Ensure timely reporting of investment performance, capital activity, and asset valuations.
- Develop and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
- Coordinate annual audits, tax filings, and compliance requirements.
- Partner with executive leadership to support financial planning, budgeting, and strategic initiatives.
- Mentor and lead the accounting team while driving process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and financial performance across multiple entities.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience as a Controller, Assistant Controller, or Accounting Manager.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Strong experience with private equity, investment accounting, and real estate accounting is preferred.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Experience managing multiple entities and complex financial structures.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills with excellent attention to detail.
