Job Description

Lead financial analyst role on the GPS III (Global Positioning System). The mission of the GPS III Finance & Business Operations (F&BO) team is to exceed customer expectations by delivering exceptional products and innovative business solutions while inspiring team member engagement and growth. In support of this objective, GPS III F&BO is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst interested in joining a high impact, cross-functional team, in a fast-paced and high growth environment.

Responsibilities include leading a team of Earned Value Management (EVM) analysts, and providing support and oversight to the larger team; working with program management and control account managers (CAMs) to perform earned value analysis, as well as variance analysis and accurate estimate to complete forecasting. This individual will be responsible for EVM compliance as the lead for the team, coordinate with other CAMs to accurately make baseline change management decisions, and ensure cost and schedule integration. Other ad-hoc analysis and reporting duties as needed. Looking for an energetic individual with emerging leadership capabilities and established financial analysis skills. This position is also responsible for managing the Financial Tools for the GPS Team including Cobra Support, Tableau, and other various excel based tools. Must have a passion for innovation, and an ability to support and influence others to complete assignments on schedule.

Standard Job Description:

Performs one or more multiple financial activities within various finance job functions (FP&A, Overhead, Program Finance, Accounting, Controller, etc.). Will include some or all of the responsibilities as defined. Performs financial analysis, establishes performance management budgeting, and forecasting activities to include variance analysis, trend identification, workforce planning drivers, risk and opportunities assessment and development of mitigation plans. Integrates information from multiple financial systems, processes and functions in order to consolidate the data forensics into actionable business solution recommendations. Timely and accurately consolidates financial results (Orders, Sales, EBIT, Cash, ROIC, Overhead, Discretionary Funding) and monthly, quarterly and year end reporting to internal and external customers to include government contractual cost and schedule earned value management reporting. Develops and utilizes forward-looking data analytics, visualization and trend analysis to inform financial strategy and decision making. Develops and provides actionable recommendations to key stakeholders to make sound financial and operating decisions. Maintains applicable internal and external (FAR, CAS, SEC, US GAAP) policy, procedure, and controls for compliance to support internal process and external regulatory requirements. Provides subject matter expertise support to proposal development, basis of estimate and negotiations, as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Prior experience with financial or EVM systems
  • Excellent analytical and financial analysis abilities
  • Skilled in developing PowerPoint packages and presenting to senior leadership
  • Innovation, and continuous improvement must be inherent in the day-to-day operations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership in an environment of competing priorities
  • Working knowledge of various Finance functions (i.e. contracts, estimating, planning, FP&A, financial analysis, or anything else)

Desired Skills

  • Proficient in various program finance applications (i.e. SAP/ERP, Cobra, Mission Control, etc.)
  • Basic understanding of an Integrated Master Plan and Schedule
  • Proficient in Earned Value Management System concepts and execution
  • Past experience with developing, and administering financial databases and reporting tools
  • 3+ years of related finance and contracts experience
  • Prior government contracting experience
  • Prior experience with financial and EVM systems

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81500.00 - $151300.00

  • For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
