The Reporting & Compliance Manager is a key leader within Xylem’s Financial Shared Services (FSS) organization, supporting our mission to #SolveWater by delivering consistent, high‑quality global finance operations. This role is responsible for governance, internal controls, financial reporting, and compliance frameworks across Xylem’s shared‑services processes, including Invoice to Pay (I2P), Credit, Collections & Cash Application (CCC), and Record to Report (R2R).
The manager ensures FSS processes operate in alignment with Xylem Finance standards, SOX requirements, and corporate policies, while proactively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, digital enablement, and enhanced operational transparency.
This role will sit in our Charlotte, NC office and be expected to work a hybrid, in-office 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Operational Governance
Lead the development and delivery of standardized FSS reporting packages, including KPIs, SLAs, performance dashboards, and compliance metrics.
Own and maintain governance documentation such as global process maps, RACI models, policy alignment materials, and operational playbooks.
Partner closely with Global Process Owners (GPOs) and Regional FSS leaders to ensure consistency, transparency, and adherence to standards across Xylem’s global footprint.
Support month‑end and quarter‑end operational and compliance reporting activities.
Apply a strong analytical mindset to interpret operational, financial, and compliance data, translating insights into actionable recommendations that improve performance, controls, and visibility.
Compliance & Internal Controls
Own and maintain FSS‑relevant internal controls, ensuring timely execution, complete evidence, and audit readiness.
Coordinate external audits, internal audits, and corporate compliance reviews across FSS process towers.
Ensure compliance with Xylem Finance Policies, Delegation of Authority (DoA), SOX requirements, and the Global Control Framework.
Conduct routine risk assessments, identify control gaps, and lead remediation efforts in partnership with GPOs and process leaders.
Process Excellence, Standardization & Digital Transformation
Drive end‑to‑end process standardization across FSS to reduce variability, improve efficiency, and strengthen controls.
Partner with Digital, IT, and GPO teams to support system enhancements and implementations (e.g., SAP S/4, Coupa) and digital solutions (RPA, workflow tools, analytics platforms).
Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Xylem’s Lean principles and global process excellence culture.
Implement reporting automation and advanced analytics to improve data accuracy, timeliness, and decision‑making while reducing manual effort.
Cross‑Functional & Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as a key liaison between FSS leadership, Corporate Controllers, Internal Audit, External Audit, Compliance, and Business Finance / FP&A teams.
Provide clear, concise communication to senior finance leadership on risks, audit status, compliance outcomes, and operational performance.
Support integration of acquisitions, divestitures, or organizational changes into the Xylem shared‑services model, with a focus on controls, governance, and financial reporting.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
(Future state) Lead and develop a small team of analysts and specialists supporting reporting, controls, audit coordination, and governance activities.
Provide coaching, workload prioritization, skills development, and ongoing performance management.
Foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, continuous improvement, and strong partnership across the FSS organization.

The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $135,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
