The Foreman ensures work is completed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with IFSS quality standards.

The ideal candidate is task‑oriented, team‑focused, and possesses strong communication skills, both written and verbal. This position plays a key leadership role in coordinating field efforts, mentoring technicians, and maintaining professionalism with both internal and external customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install conduit, wiring, and devices for low‑voltage systems including fire alarm, access control, and video surveillance.
  • Coordinate field activities across multiple trades and maintain accurate as‑built documentation.
  • Interpret blueprints and construction documents to ensure correct installation and compliance with project requirements.
  • Lead field crews, schedule onsite resources, and ensure all necessary equipment and materials are available when needed.
  • Mentor and train Technicians and Helpers to meet IFSS standards for technical performance, quality, and professionalism.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams (Project Managers, Operations, Service, Installation) and external customers.
  • Identify field changes, potential scope gaps, or issues impacting the project; collaborate with Project Managers to support timely pricing and processing of scope changes or change orders.
  • Conduct onsite installation reviews and perform quality control checks to maintain consistency with IFSS standards.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending relevant seminars, training sessions, and staying informed on industry developments and new technologies.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of demonstrated work experience in fire alarm, access control, CCTV, or low‑voltage system installation, including hands‑on field work and lead‑level responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing onsite tasks, coordinating daily work activities, and providing direction to field teams.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and NFPA requirements applicable to installation work.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, identify field changes, and support change order development.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams.
  • Ability to train, mentor, and develop field personnel to meet IFSS technical and quality expectations.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and professionalism.
  • NICET or other relevant technical certification preferred.
  • Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including a valid driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record.

This role may require extended periods of sitting or standing, movement around the office or job site, and operation of standard equipment.
