Job Description

Fire Prevention & Safety OfficerGMH Annex

About the Position: Incumbents are assigned responsibilities, involving the inspection of buildings and grounds for elimination of fire hazards, enforcement of laws, rules and regulations and providing security at Griffin Memorial Hospital-Annex.

Typical work duties may include patrolling assigned premises to identify and correct fire hazards; providing assistance to employees or visitors; directing traffic; and performing other duties related to the protection of state property, employees, visitors and others.

Job Type/Salary:

This is a Full-time shift position
3 positions available
Opening 1: 6:30am to 3pm
Opening 2: 2:30pm to 11pm
Opening 3: 10:30pm to 7am
Annual Salary:
- Level I: $14.18/hourly
- Level II: $15.14/hourly
This position is Non-Exempt

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

Level I: No requisite education and experience are required for consideration.

Level II: Completion of a basic security and/or firefighter's course, and 2 years of experience in security or fire prevention and protection work

Special Requirements:

Upon a conditional offer of employment, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of lifting/carrying 60 pounds occasionally, and able to push and pull a maximum force of 30 pounds.
Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license.

About us:Griffin Memorial Hospital Annex (GMH Annex) is located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on the site of the former Hillcrest Hospital. This 30-bed facility provides compassionate, recovery-focused care for individuals who are pretrial defendants found incompetent to stand trial, as well as those adjudicated Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity (NGRI) or Not Guilty by Reason of Mental Illness (NGRMI). The GMH Annex is dedicated to helping each person achieve stability, restore competency, and successfully transition to the next stage of their recovery journey.
