Job Summary
The Firearms Sales Associate is responsible for maintaining Counter Sales and Customer Service for Firearms along with Floor and Counter Sales of other merchandise. They perform various selling/customer service activities, to include greeting and acknowledging all customers, handling merchandise with care, providing information, assistance and direction to customers.Part-Time Position - up to 24 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers entering or leaving the store, answer their questions, assist them locate items, and provide recommendations
- Safely demonstrate firearm products to customers
- Follow all store procedures regarding the purchase of specific items, such as firearms or ammo
- Maintain a constant awareness of firearm safety
- Operating a point-of-sale (POS) system; processing customer sales by scanning items and collecting payments
- Assists in executing all required firearms paperwork within legal parameters.
- May participate in inventory tasks
- Follows all company policies and procedures
- Stock shelves and maintain a clean environment
- ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years or older
- Legally eligible to work in a firearm environment.
- Ability to obtain a Certificate of Eligibility
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings
- High School graduate or GED certificate
- Product knowledge of Firearms and Ammunition
- Basic PC knowledge and able to grasp instruction to new software programs
- Prior retail or sales of firearms and ammunition experience preferred but not required.
- Knowledge in Federal and State Regulations preferred but not required
- Familiarity with cash register or other point-of-sale system (POS)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
- Must be able to stand, sit, bend, and lift throughout the course of a scheduled shift.
- Must be able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
- Must be able to occasionally work in tight and confined spaces
- Must be able to occasionally work in noisy environments
Compensation: $18.00 per hour
