What You’ll Do

• Prepare patients and operative areas, maintaining strict sterile technique
• Assist in visualizing the operative field during surgeries
• Under surgeon supervision, harvest saphenous veins for cardiac grafting
• Assist with closure of body planes and apply wound dressings
• Support the surgical team in cardiac and general surgical procedures
• Adapt communication and interaction to suit patient-specific needs
• Follow hospital policies and ensure compliance with safety standards

What You NeedRequired:

• Certified by an accredited Surgical First Assistant program
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Minimum 5 years OR experience, with at least 3 in cardiac surgery
• Proficiency in suturing and saphenous vein harvesting
• Strong judgment, communication skills, and technical dexterity

Preferred:

• Experience with Terumo devices
• Certified in Endoscopic Saphenous Vein Harvesting
