Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fitter Welder for our client close to Decatur,AL. You will perform a variety of operational functions in various types of weld preparation, welding as and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings and specifications. This is a great opportunity to work with a leading automotive manufacturer while building your long-term career.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to determine the specific welding requirements.
• Must be proficient in Mig welding techniques
• Client out, position, align and fit components together according to blueprints, written and verbal instructions.
• Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for final welding. • Use a variety of hand and power tools as needed.
• Must be able to perform visual inspection and dimensional inspection using basic measuring tools. Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.
• Update computer records and paperwork in accordance with production requirements.
• Strictly follow safety protocols, including wearing proper PPE.
• Must have a working command of the English language and be able to communicate orally and in writing.
• Maintain work area in a clean, orderly condition.
• Perform all other duties, as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to perform essential duties.
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of two years of fitter tacking experience.
• Proficiency in reading blueprints and understanding weld symbols.
• Successful completion of an internal welding test.
• Self-motivated and requires minimal supervision.
• Consistent and timely attendance.
• Must accurately read tape measure (assessment given).
• Strong work ethic, good attendance, and ability to follow instructions.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and work occasional overtime.
• Steel-toed boots required.
• Must pass background & drug screening.

Schedule & Pay

• Shift: 1st & 2nd Shift – Monday–Friday 5:00AM-1:30PM or 1:30PM-10:00PM

• Pay: $25.00/hr
