Job Description
Job Summary:
- Support fixed asset accounting and general ledger functions within the accounting department.
- Collaborate with multiple business units for accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with month-end close activities to ensure timely and accurate financial statements.
- Prepare and post journal entries with proper documentation.
- Analyze, review, and reconcile assigned general ledger accounts such as Receivable, Prepaid, and Accrual accounts.
- Prepare and post correcting journal entries as needed.
- Maintain fixed asset ledgers, including recording asset additions and disposals.
- Reconcile fixed asset ledger to general ledger balances.
- Ensure compliance with asset capitalization policies and guidelines.
- Investigate and resolve variances or unusual account activity.
- Provide documentation and support for audits and internal reporting.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support the accounting department.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Experience in fixed asset accounting is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with various business units.
- Accounting experience in an educational setting is a plus.
- No variable compensation, relocation, or sponsorship available.
- Position is a backfill and requires on-site attendance.
