Similar roles may be: Diesel Technician, Fleet Mechanic, Reefer Mechanic, Trailer Mechanic, Reefer Technician‘ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESPerform preventative maintenance within DOT standards.
Complete all required repairs on diesel equipment (i.e., tractors, trailers, bobtails, lift gates, etc.).
Take directions from and assist senior technicians with repairs.
Utilize fleet maintenance system tablet to fully document equipment repair and parts used.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules/regulations and government guidelines.
Willingness and capacity to assume increased responsibility and certifications.
Other duties as assigned by manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENTOnsite
: The associate in this role is expected to perform assigned responsibilities inside a US Foods maintenance facility.
Ability to work flexible schedule.
Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust have 1 year of verifiable hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
Must furnish own personal hand tools.
Able to read and write legibly (e.g., to attend trainings, hold conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and enter information on reports if needed); basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, divide).
EDUCATIONHigh school diploma or equivalent required.
CERTIFICATIONS/TRAININGN/A
LICENSESMust possess a valid driver‘s license.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSValid Class A CDL license and DOT certification
Experience with Maximo fleet maintenance system
Previous mechanical and PM program experience
Experience using fleet maintenance software
Welding ability
