Float Cardiac Telemetry

Job Summary:" Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols ofthe healthcare organization.Responsibilities:" Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition asappropriate." Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care." Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders." Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.Complexity of Work:" Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimalsupervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment.Personal Protective Equipment:" Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

These are 28 bed cardiac telemetry units caring for all cardiac needs including post op care. Nurse to patient ratio is 1:4-6. The unit is also supported by PCTs and a Healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available as well as monitor techs to monitor those on telemetry.

This is a Level I trauma center serving a population of all ages. The nurses work together in teams and are supported by PCTs and a unit secretary. The job will be required to float to cardiac telemetry and med-surg departments. Travelers will be required to work up to 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period and holidays if the department has a need.
