ADMSERV03172026JOB TITLE: Floor Stripper (Same as Floor Technician)Bargaining Unit Status: May vary depending on ContractFULL-TIME (hours per week): 40 Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 3:00 PM-12:00 AMEDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one year of experience in a custodial operations facility or comparable setting.
- Working knowledge and experience/demonstrated ability in floor care procedures.
- Working knowledge and demonstrated competency in the operation and care of all equipment and chemicals used in the performance of the duties of this position.
- Demonstrated proficiency in the use of low and high-speed buffers, including burnishers, automatic floor cleaning machines, wet/dry vacuums, carpet extractors, etc.
- Must be authorized for coverage under agency insurance if operating an agency vehicle, have a good driving record, a valid driver’s license, and/or the required level of personal auto insurance.
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete a background check, per company requirements.

- Ability to communicate with tact and maintain confidentiality.
- Adequate ability in communicating in spoken conversation – adequate volume of speech.
- Ability to effectively build and maintain positive working relationships with management and peers.
- Spray Buff/Burnish hard surface floors, stripping/finishing/waxing floors, and carpet cleaning/shampooing using various types of equipment (shampoo machines, steam machines, and floor buffers).
- Perform emergency cleanup services on hard surfaces and carpeted floors due to water leaks, spills, etc.
- Responsible for ensuring that all buildings and assigned vehicle(s) are secured, and that keys are controlled according to policy/supervisor instructions.
- Responsible for the operation of vehicles in a safe manner in accordance with company policy and rules/regulations of the government facility. Assists with vehicle inspections and cleaning as needed. Informs supervisor promptly of any maintenance needs identified.
- Notifies supervisor of any/all buildings or areas that were scheduled to be serviced that were closed or inaccessible.
- Responsible for daily visual inspections of all assigned equipment, and report broken, unsafe, or faulty equipment and identify any discrepancies in assigned buildings to the supervisor.
- Responsible for maintaining supply inventory, including proper labeling, stocking in an organized/neat manner, and ordering supplies promptly so that adequate inventory is always available.
- Complies with proper use of personal protective equipment, in accordance with manufacturer requirements and company policy.
- Adequate ability for conversation, telephone use, and emergency information systems.
- Ability to be independently mobile on all surfaces and in all situations.
- Ability to move safely about the work area.
- Ability to retrieve items from high and low areas.
- Ability to perceive size, discrimination, temperature, shapes, and/or textures.
- Physical stamina to work at least 8 hours per day.
- Ability to safely load and/or transport items weighing 25 pounds between work locations.
- Must be able to change routine positively.
- Must be able to follow through on assignments independently.
- Must have good organizational skills.
- Must have a long attention span to listen to people, perceive the real problems, and bring issues to a successful conclusion.
- Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective course of action for the organization at any given point in time.
- Must possess effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
- Must have stable work behaviors daily.
- Must have adequate individual coping skills.
- Must be able to maintain good work attendance.
- Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict, and make effective decisions even in emergencies.
