Job Description
Calhoun Construction Services is a Kentucky-based construction firm that offers a comprehensive range of services, including pre-construction, construction management, design-build, facility maintenance, renewable energy, and general contracting. We also provide self-perform capabilities in metal stud framing & drywall, concrete, and flooring, allowing for greater control and quality assurance on projects.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Flooring Estimator to join our collaborative team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review, create, submit quality estimates with detailed proposals
- Prepare high level quantity and manpower take-offs
- Prospect and procure new opportunities for bid
- Comprehensively analyze plans, specifications, proposals and additional documentation to prepare bid estimates for projects
- Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, jobsite walk-throughs, bids, and coordination meetings
- Must maintain an extremely professional working relationship with clients, subcontractors, and peers
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- 2-4 years commercial construction estimating experience
- Desire and determination to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and years of experience
- Experience with conceptual and schematic design budgeting
- Computer skills to include proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff preferred
- Knowledge of construction processes and terminology
- Ability to read and understand blueprints
- Excellent math skills
- Knowledge of different types of flooring used in commercial construction
- Organizational and time management skills and ability to manage multiple commercial construction projects
- Ability to fully understand plans and specifications
- Excellent communication skills; both internal and external
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, teamwork environment
