Flooring Sales/Estimator Responsibilities:
- Attend pre-install and project progress meetings
- Read and thoroughly understand project drawings and specifications
- Schedule deliveries and installation
- Order and track product
- Track progress and troubleshoot projects in the field
- Estimate projects with accuracy, speed, and efficiency using our company’s estimating system
- Proactively look for, respond to, and bid new site projects accurately
- Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, property managers, and clients to generate new sales opportunities
- Conduct site visits and job walks to understand project requirements and build rapport with clients
- Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing and product availability
- Engage in value engineering and cost management to offer clients the best solutions
- Other responsibilities related to this position may arise, and flexibility to assist where needed is essential
Flooring Sales/Estimator Qualifications:
- 3+ years of commercial flooring estimating experience with sales exposure preferred
- Experience with Carpet Tile, Broadloom Carpet, LVT, VCT, Sheet Vinyl, Sheet Rubber, Resilient Flooring, and Base and Transitions
- Proficient with Computer Assisted Drawing software for bid scope calculations
- Experience with Measure Square and On-Screen Takeoff
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word for calculations and proposals
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage deadlines and create multiple estimates simultaneously
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, sketches, and construction schedules
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying and pursuing new project opportunities to grow the business
