About the Role
The Carpet Shoppe, Inc. (TCS), operating as Bougainville Flooring Super Store (BFSS), is seeking a Flooring Specialist who is passionate about delivering exceptional customer experiences and helping clients bring their home transformation dreams to life. You’ll guide clients through their flooring and home improvement journey—from their first visit to project completion—ensuring clarity, care, and confidence every step of the way. This is a client-facing role that combines sales, project coordination, and cross-departmental collaboration. You’ll leverage your communication skills, product knowledge, and CRM tools to provide personalized service and manage each client order with precision and enthusiasm.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers via the store’s “Up” system during assigned workdays
- Follow the company’s proven 10-step selling system to guide clients through the sales process
- Respond to customer inquiries and leads from various sources
- Actively prospect and network to generate new business opportunities and expand your client base
- Self-manage a daily client outreach program focused on generating referrals and repeat business. Consistent participation is expected and contributes directly to sales success
- Manage client orders from initiation through completion, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Submit all required documentation and project details to internal departments
- Coordinate with Production, Operations, Purchasing, and Accounting to facilitate seamless execution of projects
- Maintain showroom displays and monitor stock levels
- Participate in sales meetings, product knowledge (PK) sessions, and complete required online training through the company’s C1 university
- Present PK sessions to team members and Sales Manager
- Maintain and utilize CRM software to track customer data, interactions, and sales follow-ups
- Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by the Sales Manager

Desired Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required. One year of retail or wholesale sales experience or a combination of education and experience is preferred.
- 2+ years of sales or customer-facing experience
- Experience in flooring, home improvement, or construction a plus
Skills & Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), and CRM systems, with the ability to quickly learn and use the RFMS (POS) system effectively
- Ability to write clear, professional communication and confidently present information to managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Competency in understanding and calculating figures, including discounts, and percentages
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift and carry product samples up to 15lbs
- Ability to sit and/ or stand for long periods of time
- Availability to work Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, including some holidays as needed
Location
This is an in-person position based on the island of Oahu (County of Honolulu), Hawaii. While we welcome applicants from all locations, candidates must be available to work on-site in Oahu. This position may require travel offsite for events, meetings, and training.
Compensation and Benefits
This a full-time “at-will” position working at least 40 hours per week.
The salary range for this role is $48,000 - $100,000, which is based on market data and the organization’s compensation philosophy. Our offer will be within the range as required by certain state laws and individual salary offers will depend on and may vary with location, relevant education, knowledge, skills, and experience. We also offer comprehensive employee benefits.
