POSITION SUMMARY
The Busser is responsible for removing all the used dishes and tableware and preparing the table in a professional manner for new guests. This role serves to expedite the restaurant floor and seat guests in a timely manner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Removes all dishes and other items from table following the meal
Possesses knowledge of the position of each diner's chair in the dining rooms and lounges
- Cleans and prepares table for new guests in accordance to the Company's standards
- Performs cleaning side work as assigned
- Completes all service paperwork as required
- Supports waiters and kitchen staff in other duties as required
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES)
- Physical stamina to lift and carry heavy items (dishes, tubs, etc.)
- Minimum education: High School (or equivalent) Diploma
Must obtain a Louisiana Responsible Vendor Training (Bar Card) certification within 30 days of hire
- Previous restaurant experience strongly preferred (Minimum 1 year experience)
- Ability to stay calm and work efficiently under pressure
- Ability to prioritize job duties and manage time effectively
- Strong verbal communication skills required- Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (i.e. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required
- Excellent customer service to treat patrons like family
- Ability to read menus, safety documents, and other work-related documents
Physical Demands and Work Environment- Food Runner
- The position is both physically and mentally demanding.
- Requires being on feet for extended periods of time.
- Must work well under pressure and demonstrate tact and patience with coworkers and
- customers.
- Typically works 40 to 48 hours per week, with potential for longer and irregular hours,
- including nights and weekends.
- Regularly required to:
- Talk and hear.
- Stand and walk while carrying heavy trays (up to 50 pounds).
- Occasionally required to:
- Sit.
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Climb or balance.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Sensory abilities needed include:
- Sight
- Taste
- Smell
- Hearing
- Occasional exposure to:
- Raw meat
- Moving mechanical parts
- Airborne particles
- Hazardous materials
- Risk of electrical shock
- Work environment noise level is moderate to loud, especially during peak service times.
- Environment may include varying temperatures due to kitchen heat or outdoor areas.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced setting with frequent interruptions.
- Adherence to safety and hygiene protocols is required at all times.
