This role is a key player in ensuring the safety and quality of all our food products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all food safety and quality assurance activities in our manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal food safety regulations. This role is pivotal in maintaining our commitment to providing consumers with high-quality, safe, and wholesome food products.Responsibilities:
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality assurance protocols throughout the manufacturing process.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal food safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of the manufacturing facility to identify potential food safety risks and areas for improvement.
- Lead investigations into any food safety or quality issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Train and mentor staff on food safety and quality assurance procedures, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as production and operations, to ensure food safety and quality assurance standards are integrated throughout the company.
- Keep up-to-date with the latest food safety and quality assurance trends, technologies, and regulations, implementing new strategies as necessary.
- Prepare and present regular reports on food safety and quality assurance performance to senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in food safety and quality assurance in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal food safety regulations.
- Experience conducting audits and inspections in a manufacturing facility.
- Proven ability to implement and maintain food safety and quality assurance protocols.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train and mentor staff on food safety and quality assurance procedures.
- Proficiency in using food safety and quality assurance software.
- Certified Food Safety Professional (CFSP) or similar certification is preferred.
