Job Description
- Assist in daily preparation of menu items for breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner
- Prepare tables for meal including putting out plates, napkins, spoons, cups, and chairs
- Prepare children’s food plates with appropriate portions according to federal food guidelines
- Assist with proper storage of food items
- Collect daily classroom meal count for meal preparation
- Rinse food off dishes and prepare dishes for dishwasher
- Ensure dishes are washed and sanitized as according to Health Department regulations
- Assist with putting away stock on delivery day
- Complete daily/weekly/monthly cleaning tasks as determined by Food Service Coordinator
- Routine tasks include but are not limited to:
- Clean tables and chairs and sweep floors after meals.
- Clean cabinet fronts in cafeteria.
- Clean cafeteria walls as needed (moving highchairs).
- Clean out refrigerator and freezer in cafeteria monthly
- Keep cafeteria windowsills free of debris and wipe off as needed.
- Clean doors and door windows of outside doors from cafeteria weekly.
- Mop the kitchen, cafeteria, and do kitchen laundry as needed .
- Be willing to learn and to work quickly and accurately.
- Attend trainings as required by DHHR and Federal Food.
- In the absence of Food Service Coordinator, be responsible for the completion of daily production records, weekly menu planning, weekly food orders.
- Education and/or Experience Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in food service preferred.
