Start your career supporting those who serve. CW is hiring Mess Attendant/Food Service Worker to help keep military dining areas clean, organized, and running smoothly. No experience is required—just reliability, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn. We’ll train you every step of the way.

  • Set up dining areas, serving lines, beverage stations, and condiment bars before meal service.
  • Serve food portions to personnel in a courteous, efficient, and regulation‑compliant manner.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the galley, including wiping counters, sanitizing surfaces, and cleaning equipment.
  • Operate dishwashing machines and manually wash pots, pans, utensils, trays, and food‑service equipment.
  • Collect, sort, and dispose of waste, recyclables, and food scraps according to sanitation standards.
  • Restock serving lines, dining supplies, utensils, napkins, and beverage stations throughout meal periods.
  • Sweep, mop, and maintain floors in the galley, scullery, and dining areas to ensure a safe environment.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries by moving boxes, storing supplies, and rotating stock using FIFO standards.
  • Organize dry storage, refrigerators, and freezers to maintain cleanliness and accessibility.
  • Follow strict sanitation, hygiene, and food‑safety regulations at all times.
  • Monitor dining areas for cleanliness, table turnover, and readiness for incoming personnel.
  • Report equipment malfunctions, safety hazards, or sanitation concerns to supervisory staff.
  • Support cooks and supervisors by completing assigned cleaning, restocking, and end‑of‑shift duties.
  • Assist with special events, high‑volume meal periods, and inspection readiness tasks as directed.

Day in the Life of a Mess Attendant/Food Service Worker at CW Resources:

  • Start your shift by setting up your work area, gathering supplies, and preparing the dish station.
  • Collect, sort, and rinse dirty dishes from the dining and service areas.
  • Run dishes through the commercial dish machine and hand‑wash pots and pans that need extra cleaning.
  • Sanitize and put away clean dishes so they’re ready for the next meal.
  • Keep the galley clean by sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and removing food scraps throughout the shift.
  • Empty trash and recycling, replace liners, and follow proper disposal procedures.
  • Reset the dining area between meals by wiping tables, refilling condiments, and restocking napkins and supplies.
  • Assist with meal‑service setup by stocking trays, utensils, cups, and other serving items.
  • Follow supervisor instructions to maintain military sanitation and safety standards.
  • Work with your team during busy meal times to keep service running smoothly.
  • End your shift by completing final cleaning tasks, putting away supplies, checking out with your supervisor, and leaving the area ready for the next crew.

Physical & Environmental Demands:

  • Standing & Walking: Stand and walk for extended periods while moving continuously between food prep areas, serving lines, scullery stations, and storage rooms.
  • Bending, Reaching & Physical Mobility: Bend, stoop, reach, and crouch frequently to retrieve ingredients, load dish machines, clean equipment, and restock serving stations.
  • Manual Dexterity & Equipment Operation: Use hands for chopping, portioning, serving, cleaning, and safely operating kitchen tools, dish machines, and sanitation equipment.
  • Temperature Exposure: Work in hot environments near ovens, steam tables, and grills, and in cold environments such as walk‑in refrigerators and freezers.
  • Noise & Environmental Conditions: Perform duties in a busy galley with elevated noise levels from machinery, ventilation systems, dishwashing equipment, and high‑traffic meal periods.
  • Chemical & Odor Exposure: Work around cleaning chemicals, sanitizers, degreasers, and strong food odors as part of routine food service and sanitation tasks.
  • Sanitation & Hygiene Requirements: Maintain strict adherence to food safety, personal hygiene, and sanitation standards in accordance with military and health regulations.
