Job Summary
The Food Service Worker supports daily food service operations by safely preparing, assembling, and delivering meals for patients, visitors, and staff. This role helps maintain a clean, efficient, and customer-focused environment while ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, assemble, and deliver patient meal trays accurately and efficiently
- Set up, stock, and maintain tray line, cafeteria, and kitchen stations
- Serve food and beverages to retail customers in a friendly and timely manner
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and service stations
- Clean and reset stations, equipment, and floors after meal service
- Assist with dish room operations, including use of dish machines and waste removal
- Prepare basic food items to support patient and retail meal service
- Monitor supplies and report shortages, discrepancies, or concerns to supervisors
- Support departmental goals to improve operations and customer satisfaction
- Assist with training and cross-training of team members
- Participate in scheduled meetings, trainings, and in-service sessions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Ability to read menu items and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to follow HACCP, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Ability to push carts and transport food and supplies
- Commitment to teamwork, quality service, and operational excellence
Additional Job Details (if applicable)
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (experience accepted in lieu of education)
- Prior food service experience preferred
- Onsite role in a hospital food service environment
- Requires standing, walking, and physical activity throughout the shift
- Exposure to kitchen equipment, cleaning products, and varying temperatures

$18.10
Thursday and Friday with every other wknd 7:30am-4pm
