Ford Drivability/Electrical Service Technician
We are seeking an experienced Ford Drivability/Electrical Technician to become part of our growing team! Prior experience at a Ford dealership is required. In this position, you’ll be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, and repairing drivability systems—including engines, electrical, transmission, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and more—to keep vehicles performing at their best. You’ll also work closely with service advisors to provide clear communication on repairs and timelines.

Responsibilities:
Carry out assigned repairs from repair orders in an efficient and accurate manner, following dealership and OEM guidelines
Perform test drives and system checks using advanced diagnostic tools
Diagnose drivability concerns across multiple systems: engine, fuel, electrical, emissions, HVAC, transmission, suspension, steering, and brakes
Communicate additional repair needs, estimated costs, and timelines with service advisors for customer approval
Complete both warranty and non-warranty work in line with manufacturer requirements
Document diagnostic steps, findings, and completed work in service records
Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and recommend preventative services
Keep work area clean, organized, and handle tools/equipment with care
Stay updated on technical bulletins and participate in ongoing training
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of automotive service technician experience, ideally with diagnostic/drivability focus
Prior Ford dealership experience required
Ford certification strongly preferred
ASE or other OEM certifications preferred
Skilled in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle systems
Comfortable using diagnostic scanners, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and technical documentation
Strong troubleshooting ability and mechanical knowledge
Good verbal communication skills for effective interaction with advisors and customers
Basic computer knowledge for work orders, inventory, and related systems
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history
Personal set of basic mechanic’s tools; familiarity with dealership-level tools a plus
Able to work independently as well as in a collaborative, high-volume environment
