Job Description

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

  1. Supervises crews to obtain top-quality workmanship, efficiency, employee satisfaction, morale, communication, commitment, teamwork and pride.
  2. Coordinates, directs and leads workers engaged in plant activities. Assigns work to employees using material and worker requirements data.
  3. Regularly communicates with maintenance staff about repair and maintenance needs on all plants and major pieces of equipment.
  4. Relates to the public and to customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their complaints.
  5. Identifies the skill sets of all Oahu and neighbor island staff, establishes individualized development plans, and provides appropriate training to ensure competency of staff.
  6. Directly oversees and supervise all plant labor staff State-wide.
  7. Proactively solves problems by involving the appropriate parties, incorporating/utilizing the tools of process improvement.
  8. Establishes and maintains relationships to foster effective problem-solving with plant employees, shop and management.
  9. Performs other duties as assigned.
  10. Promotes awareness of and follows Company and general safety policies.
  11. Exhibits a core understanding of mutual respect and good customer service orientation in interactions with all people in the workplace.

PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Must have 10 years of experience as a lead in equipment repairs and have experience with AC plant repairs and operations.
  2. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Email. Adaptable to in-house software. Keyboarding skills sufficient to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  3. Excellent math aptitude to manipulate numbers quickly and identify discrepancies that might appear on calculations.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills to discuss, share, obtain technical information with internal and external customers at all levels.
  5. Must be able to read and understand job, equipment, and environmental requirements/specifications/regulations.
  6. Ability to read blueprints helpful.
  7. Valid Hawaii driver's license and favorable traffic abstract.
  8. Must be at least 18 years of age.
