Founding Studio Manager — SWEAT440 Middletown, NJ
About the Role
SWEAT440 is a fast-growing group fitness studio brand with locations across New Jersey. We are hiring a Founding Studio Manager for our new Middletown, NJ location, currently in pre-opening build-out. This is an on-site leadership role responsible for driving pre-sale performance, launching the studio, and leading daily operations once doors open. The right candidate will help us build this location from the ground up — establishing the community, hiring the team, and setting the tone for everything that follows.
Pre-Opening Responsibilities
- Lead all pre-sale efforts including founding member campaigns, community outreach, and grassroots lead generation
- Drive pre-sale membership enrollments to hit pre-opening revenue targets
- Build referral pipelines through local businesses, schools, and community partners
- Represent the brand at local events, expos, and grand opening activations
- Partner with corporate and regional leadership on marketing, signage, and launch planning
- Assist in vendor coordination, equipment install, and final studio setup
Post-Opening Responsibilities
- Drive membership sales and meet monthly studio revenue targets
- Manage and develop a team of fitness coaches and front desk staff
- Oversee daily studio operations including member check-in, facility cleanliness, and equipment maintenance
- Execute lead follow-up, outreach events, and membership retention strategy
- Onboard new team members and conduct performance reviews
- Ensure compliance with all SWEAT440 operational standards
- Report weekly KPIs to the Regional Manager
- Foster a high-energy, member-first studio culture
Requirements
- Previous management experience in fitness, health club, or gym environment strongly preferred
- Demonstrated track record in sales and hitting performance goals
- Experience with pre-sale, grand opening, or new location launches a strong plus
- Strong leadership and team development skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
- CPR certified or able to obtain within 90 days
- Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
- Fitness coaching or instructor experience a plus
- Nationally accredited fitness certification or degree in Exercise Science preferred
Compensation and Benefits
- $55,000 – $70,000 per year (base salary plus performance bonus)
