Founding Senior Full Stack Engineer

Munich, Germany | In-Office — Full-time

WHY THIS ROLE

Seed-backed ($4.5M, early 2026) Munich healthtech startup building smartphone-based preventive health screening via digital biomarkers — face video, voice recordings, eye and skin imaging, typing patterns, and accelerometry. The platform assesses health status through passive inputs and integrates directly with health insurers and clinic partners, addressing a commercially validated B2B2C distribution model. The CTO brings published research in Nature and IEEE journals and has led an FDA-approved medical AI algorithm study — rare scientific depth for a founding-stage company. As a founding engineer, you hold full ownership of stack decisions from day one, with a clear path to Staff Engineer or Engineering Lead as the team scales into expanded insurer and clinic distribution.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You'll own backend services (Python/FastAPI) and customer-facing web features (Next.js/React) for the core platform, partnering daily with an ML and biostatistics team to integrate model outputs into user-facing flows and insurer data pipelines. Team of 9–15, fully on-site in Munich.

REQUIREMENTS

Experience: 5+ years professional software engineering

- BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field

- Primary backend expertise in Python and FastAPI

- Production experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Next.js, and React

- Previous startup or high-ownership environment experience

- Strong CI/CD discipline and full SDLC understanding

- Fluent written and spoken English (working language)

- Able to work on-site full-time in Munich, Germany

Preferred:

- Experience in a regulated industry (healthcare, banking, or insurance)

- Familiarity with mobile integration (Flutter)

COMPENSATION

Base: €90,000--€130,000

INTERVIEW PROCESS

4 rounds: intro call with the founding team → technical discussion and system design with the CTO → practical technical exercise (live coding or take-home) → final founder interview and values alignment conversation.
