Job Description

Job Title: FPGA DeveloperLocation: Las Cruces, NMDepartment: Engineering / Hardware DevelopmentReports To: FPGA Engineering Lead / ManagerJob Overview:We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior FPGA Developer to join our team. As an FPGA Developer, you will work with Xilinx FPGA technologies to design, develop, and test digital hardware systems. You will be part of a collaborative team that works on cutting-edge products for the aerospace industry.Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design and development of FPGA-based systems using Xilinx tools and hardware.
  • Develop, simulate, and test FPGA logic using VHDL/Verilog.
  • Work with senior engineers to implement, optimize, and validate FPGA designs.
  • Support the creation of hardware specifications and documentation.
  • Write and maintain testbenches and perform hardware/software co-simulation.
  • Debug and troubleshoot FPGA-based designs, including verification and hardware integration.
  • Participate in FPGA synthesis, place-and-route, and timing analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software developers, electrical engineers, and systems architects.
  • Stay updated with new tools, technologies, and FPGA design methodologies.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of digital logic design and basic hardware concepts.
  • Experience with Xilinx FPGA development tools (e.g., Vivado, ISE, or Xilinx SDK).
  • Proficiency in hardware description languages (VHDL/Verilog).
  • Familiarity with FPGA simulation and debugging tools (e.g., ModelSim, ChipScope, or similar).
  • Understanding of basic embedded systems and microcontrollers.
  • Good problem-solving skills with a strong ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in FPGA design and development.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Xilinx Zynq or other Xilinx SoC platforms.
  • Basic understanding of hardware/software co-design.
  • Experience with high-speed digital design (e.g., PCIe, Ethernet, etc.).
  • Knowledge of high-level synthesis (HLS) tools and techniques.
  • Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or TCL.
  • As A DoD contractor, all employees must be U.S. Citizens
