Vessel Advisors is seeking an experienced and strategic Fractional CFO to join our team and provide expert financial leadership to a dynamic law firm. This role is ideal for a seasoned accounting professional who thrives in a flexible, part-time capacity, offering high-level financial guidance tailored specifically to the unique needs of legal practices. As a Fractional CFO, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy, improving operational efficiencies, and ensuring the firm's financial health and compliance within the legal industry. You will work closely with firm leadership to deliver insightful financial analysis, budget forecasting, cash flow management, and risk assessment. Responsibilities

Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the law firm's goals and objectives.
Provide detailed financial reporting and analysis to firm leadership to facilitate informed decision-making.
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow optimization to ensure financial stability.
Oversee risk management by identifying financial risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
Collaborate with legal and administrative teams to streamline financial operations and improve efficiency.
Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and legal industry requirements.
Advise on investment opportunities, capital expenditures, and resource allocation to maximize firm value.

Requirements

Proven experience as a CFO or Fractional CFO, preferably serving law firms or professional services organizations (at least 10+ years of CFO experience required).
Strong expertise in accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting.
Thorough understanding of legal industry financial practices and compliance requirements.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Ability to provide strategic financial leadership in a part-time, flexible capacity.
Proficiency with financial software and tools commonly used in accounting and law firm management.
Demonstrated ability to develop innovative solutions to complex financial challenges while maintaining integrity and discretion.
Interview with the firm in-person in Southern California is a requirement
