FRONT DESK / OFFICE GENERALIST
POSITION SUMMARY:
Serve as the Company's first point of contact by phone and with customers. Assist walk-in customers, vendors, and visitors. Assist as overflow support/backup to all departments.
Reports To: VP of Business Development
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum two (2) years of office experience, prior experience in the moving industry preferred.
- Computer-literate and adaptable to new programs and processes
- Able to acquire US Government security clearance for DPS.
- Keep comprehensive notes and track information with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent customer service, telephone skills, and handling difficult and/or emotional customers.
- Able to adjust work pace and priorities according to the day’s workload.
- Able to problem-solve and be a solution-focused person.
- Ability to conduct themselves in a professional, businesslike manner.

The duties of the job will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Serve as the primary in answering the Company’s phone system - providing answers to inquiries, routing phone calls to the appropriate personnel, taking down messages when necessary, and relaying messages promptly.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for calling each customer on the final schedule the day before the move to provide the crew with an estimated arrival time, confirm the address and phone number, and collect additional information, if applicable.
- Assist walk-in customers and vendor inquiries and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist walk-in customers with selling packing supplies and boxes.
- Provide administrative support to all departments – data entry, distribution, stripping folders, scanning, emailing, filing, etc.
- Assist crews with local move charges.
- Prepare and distribute incoming/outgoing mail and packages.
- Maintain all recorded messages and distribute each to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain office equipment, coordinate repairs, and order supplies as needed.
- Manage coffee supplies and equipment.
- Office upkeep and organization
- Obtain explicit knowledge and understanding of moving processes.
- Any other duties as may be requested by the Company.

PHYSICAL & WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; see clearly; talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. unassisted.
The employee must be able to carry and climb a ladder. Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods. Must be able to twist, stoop, squat, reach above shoulder level, and crouch frequently. Must be able to use hands and feet simultaneously and for repetitive movements. Visual acuity for detailed documentation and screen work. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee may be exposed to warehouse environments with loud noise and varying weather conditions.
WORK SCHEDULE, COMPENSATION, & BENEFITS
Work Schedule
- Status: Full-time, non-exempt
- Schedule: Monday- Friday, 7:30am– 4:30pm, with occasional evenings or weekends based on operational needs.
Compensation
- Pay: Hourly, $16.00 per hour
