Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to join our Wellness Center team. This role serves as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming and efficient experience.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment and is comfortable working with individuals receiving mental health services, where confidentiality, empathy, and professionalism are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
- Answer and route incoming calls; take accurate messages as needed
- Verify patient demographics, insurance, and eligibility
- Collect co-pays and post payments accurately
- Maintain patient records, logs, and documentation
- Manage front desk workflow and ensure efficient patient flow
- Balance daily receipts and assist with basic financial reporting
- Provide administrative support (filing, correspondence, mail distribution)
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support patient care
Confidentiality & Work Environment
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA and patient privacy standards
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Demonstrate empathy and respect when working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges
- Help create a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental environment for all patients
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least 6 months of receptionist, administrative, or healthcare front desk experience preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational ability
- Proficient in data entry and basic computer systems
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a medical office, behavioral health, or wellness setting
- Familiarity with insurance verification and practice management systems
