Job Description

Front of House Associate

Job Summary

Accountable for the overall guest experience and day-to-day execution of front-of-house operations, including customer service, retail presentation, inventory management, cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness. Responsible for maintaining a welcoming, fully stocked, and exceptionally clean bakery while ensuring every guest receives efficient, friendly, and knowledgeable service.

Activities & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Able to perform all front-of-house stations as business levels dictate.

  • Accurately operate the point-of-sale (POS) system and process cash and credit card transactions.

  • Greet every guest promptly and provide friendly, professional service throughout their visit.

  • Develop and maintain strong product knowledge of all bakery offerings, beverages, and retail products.

  • Confidently answer guest questions regarding ingredients, allergens, preparation methods, and product recommendations.

  • Accurately package customer orders while maintaining Co-Dough presentation standards.

  • Monitor bakery displays throughout the day and keep them clean, organized, fully stocked, and visually appealing.

  • Restock beverages, retail merchandise, sauces, packaging, paper goods, and all front-of-house supplies throughout each shift.

  • Perform routine inventory counts of retail products, beverages, packaging, and operating supplies.

  • Identify low inventory levels, damaged products, or supply shortages and communicate them to management before they impact operations.

  • Assist with receiving deliveries, organizing inventory, rotating products using FIFO, and maintaining accurate inventory storage.

  • Maintain cleanliness of all customer-facing areas, including counters, display cases, beverage stations, seating areas, doors, windows, and restrooms.

  • Complete opening, mid-shift, and closing checklists accurately and independently.

  • Anticipate operational needs and proactively complete tasks without waiting for direction.

  • Answer phones professionally and accurately communicate bakery policies, hours, and product availability.

  • Assist with online, phone, and in-store orders while maintaining speed and accuracy.

  • Maintain a sense of urgency while delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and production staff to ensure smooth daily operations.

  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and company operating procedures.

  • Follow company attendance, appearance, and uniform standards.

  • Adapt to changing priorities and assist in other areas of the bakery as business demands.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and ownership in all responsibilities.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work independently and identify priorities without constant supervision.

  • Basic mathematical skills and ability to accurately handle cash transactions.

  • Ability to learn POS software and multiple ordering platforms.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.

  • Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a shift.

  • Ability to maintain a positive, professional demeanor under pressure.

  • Ability to work mornings, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules as business requires.

  • Previous customer service, hospitality, retail, or food service experience is preferred but not required.
