Job Description

Insurance Coordinator 

Reports to: Practice ManagerKey Partnership: Clinical, Billing, and OperationsDepartment: Operations Salary: $15-16/hr (based on experience on admin field)Classification: Non-Exempt Status: Full Time 

About this role: Community Dental Partners is looking for someone who loves being around people. The Insurance Coordinator is someone that has the opportunity to bring a smile to the patient(s), to be able to give them a wonderful patient experience. The Insurance Coordiantor is primarily responsible for insurance verification. The Insurance Coordinator is able to support the patient, staff, and doctors in many different ways. Job Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients upon arrival 
  • Collect paperwork and insurance information directly from patients and scan all documents.
  • Change and update patient status in the computer according to established guidelines.
  • Handle routine questions over the phone concerning appointments, policies, insurance, and treatments. Update the notes in the system to reflect any changes made
  • Verifying insurance and frequencies when needed.
  • Review the schedule in advance to ensure appointments and patients are due before confirming them.
  • Confirm patients following the established confirmation protocol. Can reappoint examination appointments, refers other appointments to the proper person for reappointment if necessary
  • Clean/maintain front office area/lobby
  • Collect fees per patient's insurance or visit.
  • In this role, you will help the office manager create claims.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 Basic Qualifications: 

  • Administrative experience is required
  • Experience working with insurance is preferred 
  • Dental Experience is not required but  experience in another administrative or insurance-related setting is acceptable.
  • Education: High School graduate or equivalent 
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Customer service is a plus 
  • Multitasking and prioritizing  
  • Dependability
  • Team player
