Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, and technically strong Full Stack Software Engineer to join an Enterprise Technology Application Development team supporting a highly respected, innovation-driven organization in Los Angeles.
This is a unique opportunity to build internal software systems that support a broad range of important initiatives across business operations, philanthropy, scientific research, sustainability, climate, ocean, and aerospace-related programs. You will work in a small, high-caliber engineering environment where ownership, strong technical fundamentals, and the ability to move quickly across systems matter.
The selected candidate will play a key role in building and maintaining a portfolio of internal business systems that support critical operational workflows across multiple domains. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy high-ownership environments, working across systems and technologies, and building reliable software that supports real-world operations.
The application portfolio is built on a consistent and opinionated architectural foundation, enabling engineers to move between systems while maintaining high standards for code quality, maintainability, and operational reliability. You will work closely with senior engineering leadership, contribute to architecture and implementation decisions, and help coordinate delivery with distributed development resources.
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Build and deliver full-stack software features across backend services, APIs, databases, and frontend applications.
- Develop and maintain Java and Spring Boot backend services supporting production business applications.
- Build React and TypeScript user interfaces aligned with shared platform and design standards.
- Design and implement relational database models, schema migrations, and API integrations.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture decisions, technical implementation, and delivery planning.
- Support code quality, maintainability, operational reliability, and repeatable delivery practices.
- Work effectively with distributed engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and modern full-stack development practices.
- Strong proficiency with React and TypeScript frontend development.
- Solid understanding of relational database design and PostgreSQL development.
- Experience with Docker-based containerization and modern CI/CD workflows.
- Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems, codebases, and architectural patterns.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a high-ownership, fast-moving engineering environment.

- Experience integrating with financial systems, operational platforms, or enterprise business applications.
- Experience working with distributed or offshore development teams.
- Experience building internal tools, workflow automation, or enterprise application modernization.
