Job Description
Restoration Estimator (Commercial Focus)
Columbia, SC | Full-Time | Starting at $26/hour
Pulliam Restoration is hiring a disciplined, detail-driven Restoration Estimator to join our growing Estimating Division. While we handle both residential and commercial work, this role carries a strong commercial focus - including large-loss mitigation, complex scopes, and fast-moving environments. This is not a "quick sketch and send it" position. We operate on EOS. We track performance. We protect margin. And we move with urgency. This role directly impacts company profitability. We are looking for someone who can step into a structured system, take direction from our Estimating Division Manager, and execute consistently at a high level. If you can walk into a damaged property, think critically, build a defensible scope, and deliver a clean estimate within 48 hours - we want to talk to you.
What You'll Do
- Inspect commercial and residential fire, water, mold, and storm losses
- Produce rough estimates within 24 hours of inspection
- Deliver complete, defensible estimates within 2 business days
- Build scopes that account for sequencing, materials, labor, and real-world conditions
- Maintain intentional margins (actual projected)
- Communicate professionally with adjusters and clients
- Collaborate daily with PMs, Operations, and the Job File Coordinator
- Keep documentation clean and updated in our management system
- Participate in weekly estimating review meetings
What Success Looks Like (We Measure It)
- Estimates sent within 48 hours
- Win ratio 50%
- Consistent productivity in a 40+ hour work week, with additional hours during high-volume periods to support client demand and maintain turnaround standards
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years of estimating experience in restoration, construction, or insurance
- Experience with commercial properties preferred (office, retail, multifamily, industrial, etc.)
- Proficiency in Xactimate or comparable estimating software
- General/basic proficiency in Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, Etc.)
- Strong understanding of building materials and mitigation processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously without sacrificing accuracy
- Comfortable receiving feedback and improving within a structured process
- Takes ownership of deadlines and margin performance
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working in a high-accountability, fast-paced environment
- Willingness to flex schedule during surge events or high-volume periods
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license
- Residential-only experience is welcome - but the ability to think through larger, more complex commercial scopes is essential
- This role is best suited for an estimator who values structure, accountability, and continuous improvement
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting at $26/hour, with potential for higher compensation based on experience and demonstrated capability
- Company vehicle access and fuel card
- Company laptop and phone
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k)
- Paid time off and holidays
- Clear growth path within an EOS-run organization
